Information HIP

HIP was founded in 2012 by Hans van Dormolen.

Hans van Dormolen works internationally as an independent digitization consultant for the heritage community. 

Some well known clients are: National Library of the Netherlands, National Library of Belgium, National Library of Qatar, Waterlands Archive, Het Nieuwe Instituut, Zeeuws Archief, Municipality of The Hague, Municipality of Amsterdam, NIOD, Heritage Leiden, University Library Utrecht, University Library Leiden, meemoo, Vlaams Architectuur Instituut, Maritiem Museum Rotterdam, Lakenhal Leiden.  

Hans van Dormolen is the author of the Metamorfoze Preservation Imaging Guidelines version 1.0 and version 2.0. Version 2.0 is still under construction and will be published in 2023.

Hans van Dormolen is a committee member of the ISO working group TC42 JWG26 and a member of the Society for Imaging Science & Technology (IS&T).

In 2014 Hans van Dormolen received an IS&T Service Award and in 2015 he gave a Tedx Talk about the Metamorfoze guidelines.

Hans van Dormolen is co-developer of the Universal Test Target (UTT) and developer of the Correct Exposure Tool CET 357.

Hans van Dormolen has lectured in the following cities: Amsterdam, Antwerp, Brussels, Berlin, Bern, Brighton, Doha, Durban, Helsinki, Hilversum, Houten, Jakarta, Copenhagen, Lisbon, London, Los Angeles, Leiden, Middelburg, Moscow, Pietermaritzburg, Riga, Washington.
